I am not that interested in cricket to be honest but can someone tell me have we won (I thought we did?) and how long does it go on for?

It's not over yet. I think that was the third of five tests?

So still another two riveting (??) tests to go. Ugh.

And no, you haven't won yet, but you did win the last test, which I think is what is confusing you. However I think for England to win the Ashes back they have to win outright, if it ends up a draw then Australia retains the Ashes. I think... ?

(Though I am wondering how a test with 5 games can ever end up a draw? Maybe there is only 4...)

More to the point, who cares!? So boring....

*yawn*

There are 5 test matchs each lasting up to 5 days - each capable of being a draw.

So far we are 3 matches in to the series -

Match1: England were outclassed, but managed to hang on for a draw

Match2: England matched Australia and managed to get a victory

Match3: Australia were outclassed, but managed to hang on for a draw

So after 3 tests the score is England 1, Australia - 0

If England win either or both of the remaining tests, they WIN the ashes. (2-0 or 2-1)

If BOTH remaining tests are draws, England WIN the ashes.(1-0)

If Australia win 1 of the remaining tests and draw the other, Australia retain the ashes (series is a draw 1-1)

If Australia win both remaining tests, Australia retain the ashes (2-1 series victory for Australia)

Next test starts tomorrow and runs Friday-Tuesday

Last test starts Thurs 20th and runs Thursday-Monday

....and then of course theres a 1-day series 4th-20th September (7 matches)
