We are looking to move to Melbourne early next year, what are the good and bad points to living in Melbourne and where are the best places to settle down with a family.

Cheers Darren:hug:

Good points

Plenty of things to do, arts, sport, live music, good food.

Four seasons of the year especially spring and autumn

Nice housing

Have to live here for a while to really appreciate the place

Bad points

Road congestion

Public Transport

Melbourne and the surrounding areas take in a huge area so for instance I live over one hundred kilometres from the airport.

It really depends on individuals what area would suit also where work is as commuting can be hard if its a long one.

Do some more research have a look at google earth as all the streets are on at street level now and it may give you some more idea.

Suburbs around the city are expensive, East Melbourne, South Yarra, Toorak, Caulfield, Hawthorn, Camberwell, Balwayn, Ascotvale, Footscray, Northcote, Williamstown,

Just a few to look at and then you can work out further.

Good luck
