I won't have a permanent address to register with Medicare immediately (we are staying in hostel til we find somewhere more permanent) and thought maybe I could get a private scan, so can anyone advise on how to do this and how much it would cost? Guest Sam3 Posted January 13, 2009 Share Posted January 13, 2009 Hi I arrived in Melbourne from the UK when I was 18 weeks pregnant in september but had a ascan on medicare. Providing you are eligible for medicare you may not have to have a permanent address. If you do, there are plenty of private hospitals/doctors where you can just pay. I did a quick internet search and came up with these Melbourne Ultrasound for Women COGUS: providing pregnancy ultrasound scan and gynaecological scan in Melbourne But do a search and ring a few places.
