Hiya,

Having read numerous posts on here I have noticed that some Panel Dr's seem to be more thorough than others.

We have ours booked for January 2009 in Handsworth, Birmingham (not sure which Dr) and I just wondered whether anyone had been and what's involved, are they really thorough at Birmingham?

Thanks in advance,

Hi there,

We had our medicals done in Handsworth, because it was the quickest appointment tried Northampton but it was ages. They were very good up there and couldnt fault them . Paid extra for courier . It was 2 1/2 years ago now but I wouldnt think that it has changed much. Bloods are taken when you get there ,urine checked and chest xray . Then the doctor . Drink plenty of water before you go lay off the coffee .

Bit of a trek from Milton Keynes but OK

we had ours there too, they did all the essential tests but we didn't have to have breast exams etc that some people have had to have, didn't even need to get undressed, the place is shabby to say the least but the staff are very friendly

Yeah i had my tests there last week, i went there because the do everything from xray,s blood tests, doctors exam and they post the results off by courier. It costs £260 for everything for an adult, not sure for kids. There is the priory hospital in edgbaston and a clinic in selly oak, priory does the xrays and the selly oak does the medical. this way does work out about £50 cheaper, but i decided not to got this route because i wanted to keep everything all together in one application.

hi vicky

we had our medicals there and no they were not thourough, infact i dont think they even lifted the shirts on our backs!!!lol My friend went else where and a had avery indepth discussion/ examination! The doctor was very relaxed and did not seem too interested but of course it does depend on who you see. All i will say is dont worry ,declare your info and you cant go wrong, any concerns just ask, and if you know you have given them all the information you can then it is up to them to determine the decision. It will be all good !! julie:yesxmas:

Hi Wezly80,

we completed our medicals at the Priory and at Selly Park and everything flowed smoothly as we are here in Oz without a hitch. We had a date set for our xrays at The Priory then a couple of days later had our medicals at Selly Park. Once the xrays were cleared they were sent to Selly Park and all was sent in one package. They work together for immigration purposes.

Good luck with your application.

We are Living in Nerang on Gold Coast since start of October 2008 and not looking back.

Good luck

Hi

We had ours at Handsworth last year because it was quicker to get an appt than selly oak. Easy to find, staff helpful but we were there for for about 3 hours! (5 of us!)

Bloods, urine, chest xray, eye test, weight, height & a chat with the doc. Pretty straightforward. Due to some calcium deposits showing on OH chest xray, had to have a private referral with a chest specialist confirming nothing to worry about & he was fit & healthy which was another 250 quid eek! But anywhere would pick that up.

Good luck!
