Guest jesse Posted November 30, 2008 Share Posted November 30, 2008 We are planning to move over to melbourne in the middle of feb 09 to work at the Peter Maccallum Unit in East Melbourne. A couple thru the hospital has offered their accommodation to us. It is a furnished 2 bed room house located a block away from Glenferrie Road (Sercombe Grove) in Hawthorn. Is anyone familiar with the area i.e. is it quiet, safe area to live, convenient to get to the Peter Maccallum. They have offered it for $520 per week fully furnished. As we have never rented in Oz, we were wondering whether it was reasonable to pay this amount? I heard that sometimes it was difficult to find somewhere decent to live for this price range and we wonder whether we should just take this house to save us some hassle.
