Nursing work experience

My wife Lisa qualifies in 2 weeks as a nurse. Do we have to wait a year before we can put in for our visa or can we submit it say in 9 months time with a covering note saying that she will have a years experience in 3 months (or by the time the visa is granted). Hope that makes sense?

Why don't you go for a 457 graduate programme then you don't have to wait at all. A lot of hospitals will sponsor for PR after 3 months.

Hello,

I was going to suggest the same thing as FIONA1975! But in answer to your original query, you must meet the work experience requirements before the application is lodged. Anything (work experience-wise) that occurs after the application is received will not be counted.

But one the bright side, health professionals under the GSM program tend to be processed faster than other occupations.

Best of luck!
