We are just in the initial phases, that is working out what visa to apply for. Once we've decided this we plan to move ahead the only prob is OH is concerned about letting his employers know our plans to soon. How long in to the process will this come up? i presume we need them for references and proof of employment.?

hi, we were in the same situation last year. We needed a reference for TRA so bosses had to be told. My OH is a foreman at a small joinery shop which is a nice family atmosphere, or so we thought. We didn't give them any dates and he said to them he would give them 6-8 weeks notice so the could find a suitable candidate. They have decided to rush ahead and make someone in house foreman on 5th of March , without consultation .

We havn't even been allocated our visa !!!!!! Things have turned a bit sour.

For TRA references you can as people in a higher position if you don't want bosses to know.

Be careful don't give them any time scale . just say it could take years and then you might decide not to go. Even if you think they can be trusted.

Will make life alot easier. ANDI

Waiting Waiting for that phone call , fingers crossed won't be long.
