Your responsibilities in this role will include: · Ability to read engineering drawings · Ability to strip, inspect, repair, clean and re-assemble mechanical equipment · Ability to work with large engineering equipment, using 2 to 10 tonne cranes · Strong work ethic and ability to complete tasks in a timely manner. · Quality control checks on finished parts. Completing quality documentation on completion · Ensure the accuracy of a job through quality inspections · Advise your supervisor immediately of any safety, quality or technical issues with a job · Participate in team discussions and contribute to a safe, efficient and positive workplace · Be open and willing to learn and use new skills · Maintain a positive attitude and strive to achieve mutual respect within your team Assembly of New Equipment The manufacturing capability often leads to jobs and projects that require mechanical assembly, including alignment of drive motors. Over the years, our fitters have been involved in interesting small and large new equipment assembly jobs. About You To be considered for this role, you will possess; · Relevant Trade Qualifications preferred (Mechanical Fitter, Hydraulic Fitter or Fitter-Machinist) · At least 2 years work experience with proven track in the similar role is a must · Demonstrated experience in strip, repair and assembly of new and used mechanical equipment. · Strong attention to detail and a willingness to take direction · Ability to work well within a team, autonomously and unsupervised · Have a high focus on safety · Have a positive attitude and be willing to learn and use new skills · Ability to pass pre-employment medical and police checks · Have up to date COVID-19 vaccinations About our client With more than 75 years of profession in the industry, our client has a 6,500 sqm workshop facility in the heart of western Sydney, the extensive engineering workshop is equipped to manufacture, repair and overhaul custom made small to heavy mechanical engineering equipment for Defence & industry.
