  1. About the Opportunity We are currently recruiting trade-qualified Welders to bolster our growing team. Your responsibilities in this role will include: ▪ Manufacture and fabrication of metal products from plate from 4mm up to 50mm thick steel plates. ▪ Experience handling heavy plates for fabrication with overhead cranes. ▪ Fabricate steel components for rail, mining and other heavy industries. ▪ Read and interpret engineering drawings in English. ▪ Undertake welding in accordance with welding procedures. ▪ Welding will be mostly for Mild steel, with only 5% for aluminium or stainless steel welding. ▪ MIG welding essential. TIG welding preferred but not essential. ▪ Ability to operate and set welding machine. ▪ Quality control checks on finished parts. Steel Fabrication Our welders and boilermakers have been involved in many small, medium and large steel fabrication jobs and projects. Furthermore, we have completed many demanding jobs over the years, where the welders skills and qualifications are some of the best within the industry. Heavy Fabrication We have all the resources to successfully complete heavy fabrication jobs, where the highly skilled welders and boilermakers are supported by a strong engineering team; a large workshop of 6500 m2; multiple overhead cranes with the largest overhead crane rated to 32 tonnes and with a clearance of 10.5 metres under hook. About You To be considered for this role, you will possess; ▪ Relevant Trade Qualifications preferred for Welder or Metal Fabricator. ▪ At least 2 years work experience with proven track record in a similar role is a must ▪ Extensive Fabrication and Welding experience ▪ Skilled & experienced in a variety of welding processes ▪ Strong attention to detail and a willingness to take direction ▪ Ability to work well within a team, autonomously and unsupervised ▪ Strong work ethic with a safety first mindset. Your responsibilities in this role will include: · Ability to read engineering drawings · Ability to strip, inspect, repair, clean and re-assemble mechanical equipment · Ability to work with large engineering equipment, using 2 to 10 tonne cranes · Strong work ethic and ability to complete tasks in a timely manner. · Quality control checks on finished parts. The multiple CNC machines means that the company can machine many small, medium and large parts. This includes the machining of stainless steel, which can move during machining as it heats up. Heavy CNC Machining The company has one of the largest CNC machines in Australia, which is the 12 metre CNC floor borer. This machine has a turntable rated to handle work pieces up to 30 tonnes, with the flat bed rated to 100 tonnes, able to machine work pieces up to 12 metres long and 4 metres high in the one setup. About You To be considered for this role, you will possess; · Relevant Trade Qualifications preferred (ie Fitter and Machining) · At least 2 years work experience with proven track in the similar role is a must · Experience in manual and CNC machine operation · Ability to program and operate CNC machines using Fanuc and/or Heidenhain controls · Ability to read and understand drawings & specifications · Ability to select appropriate equipment, consumables, tools, and understand sequencing of jobs · Ability to measure jobs and complete dimensional inspection reports · Have a high focus on safety · Have a positive attitude and be willing to learn and use new skills · Ability to pass pre-employment medical and police checks · Have up to date COVID-19 vaccinations · Be able to attend a face to face interview with a practical component at our western Sydney, NSW facility.
