We are currently recruiting trade-qualified CNC Machinists to bolster our growing team.
Your responsibilities in this role will include:
· Ensure you fully understand instructions and requirements of a job, including machining standards, tolerances, surface finishes, etc, before starting a job
· Organise your work area and any job materials so as to facilitate safe and efficient machining
· Use your trade and other relevant training to maximize the accuracy, quality, conformity and efficiency of each job
· Contribute towards company’s objectives including zero serious safety incidents, zero warranty claims, and zero re-work
· Plan jobs to ensure that you have the relevant materials and tools available for the current and next job to minimise spindle down time
· Ensure the accuracy of a job through quality inspections
· Advise your supervisor immediately of any safety, quality or technical issues with a job
· Participate in team discussions and contribute to a safe, efficient and positive workplace
· Be open and willing to learn and use new skills
· Maintain a positive attitude and strive to achieve mutual respect within your team
Our CNC Machines
Small CNC Machining
Having a total of 18 CNC machines, including small CNC turning lathes, CNC milling and CNC machining centres. The multiple CNC machines means that the company can machine many small, medium and large parts. This includes the machining of stainless steel, which can move during machining as it heats up.
Heavy CNC Machining
The company has one of the largest CNC machines in Australia, which is the 12 metre CNC floor borer. This machine has a turntable rated to handle work pieces up to 30 tonnes, with the flat bed rated to 100 tonnes, able to machine work pieces up to 12 metres long and 4 metres high in the one setup.
About You
To be considered for this role, you will possess;
· Relevant Trade Qualifications preferred (ie Fitter and Machining)
· At least 2 years work experience with proven track in the similar role is a must
· Experience in manual and CNC machine operation
· Ability to program and operate CNC machines using Fanuc and/or Heidenhain controls
· Ability to read and understand drawings & specifications
· Ability to select appropriate equipment, consumables, tools, and understand sequencing of jobs
· Ability to measure jobs and complete dimensional inspection reports
· Have a high focus on safety
· Have a positive attitude and be willing to learn and use new skills
· Ability to pass pre-employment medical and police checks
· Have up to date COVID-19 vaccinations
· Be able to attend a face to face interview with a practical component at our western Sydney, NSW facility.
