Kayleighjx
Hi all, My partner and I + our 2 children aged 6 and 4 will soon be moving to the Sunshine Coast. We are looking for affordable, family friendly areas within 30 minutes of Mooloolaba. Is there any places you can recommend or I suppose more importantly places to avoid? Many thanks in advance for any advise or suggestions. Kayleigh
Clairec
Hi Kayleigh, Did you manage to get over and find somewhere? We are in process of visa's now and hope to be there Aug/Sept this year if all goes well. We are also looking in the same area. Thanks Claire
Kayleighjx
Hi Claire We are here now yes. It is very hard to find a rental property here at the moment and rents are very expensive but we have managed to find somewhere luckily. If you know anyone on the coast I’d maybe suggest getting them to inspect some properties for you so you can try and secure one before you arrive. We stayed in a nice air bnb when we arrived that I can give you details for if you need it. Hopefully by the time you arrive things will have settled down abit, but it is a beautiful place to live so good luck with the move x

Was your visa process relatively smooth? Yes, I have a friend who lives in Currimundi so will see if she would have time to help and do some viewings for us. Our son who will be 14 when we hopefully arrive and has put Kawana Waters as his first choice for school, so we will be looking in this catchment for a long term rental. Our plan is to buy a property within 12 months of arriving. If you could provide the airbnb details too, it will be appreciated. Did you settle in easily? Anything you were not expecting before you arrived other than the rental market? Thanks again.
