BigJoe Posted November 9, 2020 Share Posted November 9, 2020 Hello all, I'm looking looking at driving Heavy Goods vehicles when I move back to Australia. Has anyone done this as a career, and if so any advice or tips you can send my way would be appreciated. I realise I cannot transfer my HGV license over to a QLD license which is slightly irritating, but here's hoping the Government allow this before 2023. Otherwise I will have to retake my tests. Many people have hoped it would be over the years but these were the rules when i came 14 years ago and they havent changed yet (which is crazy when HGV drivers always seem to be in demand). You should find work easy enough but i think you will have to re sit the test first to get your licence.
