Skill Assessment Query

Hi Guys,

I am offshore and looking to apply for Marketing Specialist with the following qualifications and experience.

Qualifications -

a) Bachelor of Arts (Hons) Degree - UK - 2009
b) Post Graduate Diploma in Business Management with Specialization in Marketing (Distance Learning) - India - 2015

Work Experience

a) Marketing Executive - 2010 (6 months)
b) Corporate Product Manager - 2011 to 2013 (2 yrs 8 months)
c) Executive - 2015 to 2019 (3 yrs 9 months)
d) Assistant Marketing Manager - 2019 onwards (8 months)

I can a get statement of service from the last 3 companies. However I have some queries :-

1. My first company has shut down. I only have their experience letter with no payslips or HR manager to verify my employment. Is it worth putting it in for the assessment with just the experience letter?

2. My ex-manager to whom I used to report has left the second company. Would it be better to take only the statement of service from the HR as that person is not someone who would know me and I don't know how he would respond if called for confirmation. Or should I take an SD from my ex manager as well just to be safe.

3. Will my PGDBM be assessed as AQF lvl 8 or lvl 7 by vetassess?

I'm looking for at least 5 years of positive skills assessment as that seems to be the requirement for QLD and NSW 491. Any idea what my chances are?

1. I wouldn’t even bother with the first company. 6 months isn’t really going to make a difference and if it’s hard to get confirmation you worked there it isn’t worth it.

2. HR of any company will confirm your statement of service regardless if they know you or not. 
 

3. I’d presume level 8 as 7 is a Bachelor level.  

No one can really predict your chances without knowing your points.

Thanks for the info lambert. I see I am currently eligible for 75 points with competent english (I got a competent equivalent score in 2009 when I took the test) and am looking to get a better score so I can get it up to 85 points.

You know the test certificate expires after 3 years? You’d have to take it again before you submit your EOI

Hey guys, 

One of the 3 company's is refusing to give me a statement of service or sign any statutory declaration citing that they don't provide anything apart from an experience letter (which I already have).

I have all other documents pertaining to my job such as bank statements, salary slips, offer letter etc. from the company. Is there anything else I can do to improve my chances for a positive assessment from vetassess?
