HarbinderSingh
Can a person having experience as a University Lecturer who teaches Mathematics subjects to college students (ANZSCO Code : 242100) can claim points for the Mathematician job (ANZSCO Code : 224112) as it is a closely related skilled occupation. Isn't?
wrussell
The rule is that occupations having the same first four ANZSCO digits are 'closely related' and post-qualification work experience in such occupations can be counted for points. There are some complex court decisions that bear on this.
HarbinderSingh
Thanks Wrussell for the reply. What should you suggest? Should I go for assessment or not for the Mathematician even though experience is about teaching mathematcs to university students?
wrussell
From what has been posted, it is not possible to offer a considered professional opinion. May I suggest that you consult one of the registered migration agents who posts on the forum for an assessment?
