Medical problem

Hi Friends,

my son’s medical has been deferred.

As requested by immi we had gone through medical and me and my wife’s medical were cleared but my son’s has been deferred due to be further assessment. We received a reference letter from BVMS that i have to see a specialist who is a Paediatrics or clinical psycologist assesseing child’s “Cognitive development”. My son is 3 and half years old. The main issue they found is that my son is not speaking in full sentence while he is talking but in a broken words he responses which means language delay. He is also able to understand the command, act and eye contact and emotions etc even though as a parents we don’t feel having any problem at all.

Does anyone in this forum have or had this situation like me?

PleasE share your experience with this similar medical condition if anyone have.

Thanks dear

Hi @KazBaker all of my boys were delayed in their language development but by the time they were at school they were absolutely fine. It’s 14 years since we first applied, maybe longer but nothing was ever said about their speech. Do you have any other children? Do you know if you or your wife had delayed speech? If you did and they can see that everything is fine now I would hope you wouldn’t have any problems.

‘Good luck and please let us know how you go.

This son is our first and only son. As my mom said to me that me and my brother had speech delay until 4. So it seems like its connecting with genetical common issue. Though my son now started talking slowly and in learning process as he has been placed in child care. Hopefully he will be getting better in coming days. Thanks for your words dear

Notes:

In about 85% of the cases where a child has delayed speech, it is due to a hearing loss.

To carry full weight, a specialist's report should follow a format that addresses the relevant legal criteria.

May I suggest that you seek advice from a registered migration agent as soon as possible?

Hi,

Thanks for your advice.

It is confirmed that my son has no issue with hearing. We tested.

and i am already with a registered migrants agent.

now waiting for the report from the psycologist who has done his research whatever he needed to have info such as talking to my wife’s history during pregnency, talking to school teacher(son’s attending kinder), talking to GP, playing with my son with many toys alone. He has done everything and he will write a report and give it to us which i have been waiting for.

Feeling stressed about what will be written on the report. Only God knows !

Form sent to your email.

You need a medico-legal report .

You might have to get your RMA to hit the medicos over the head with a blunt instrument, they tend to write whatever they are going to write.

Best of luck with it.

Thanks a heap

Dear Wrussell,

i have received the report for my son from the climical psycologist today. In his report he described son’s language delay with no other issue exist and need extensive speech therapy immediately. And i forward it to The MOC already.

now my question is what would be the possible outcome once they rececive and assess?

Is there any significance delay in visa process to be happened.?
