Jane A Dobson
I am moving to Oz shortly and need to get my pension transfered over from a UK bank on a monthly basis, anyone any advice?
Marisawright
Is it the government pension or a private one? The easiest thing, with the government pension, is just to let the Pensions office know, and ask them to pay it straight into your Australian bank account. There's no charge. Marisawright
I meant to say, if you want to get fancy, you can leave the money being paid into a UK account, then watch the exchange rates and transfer it over when the rates are good. You can use a company like Moneycorp or Transferwise to do the transfer. Personally I'm not sure it's worth the hassle and I just get mine paid into my Aussie account. For the private pension, ask them - you may find they can pay it straight into an Australian account as well.
