JulesRosie
Hi moving to Melbourne in September any suggestions for suburbs commutable to CBD 30-45mins. Would like somewhere where there's a bit of space with good schools for 9 year old and some shops for groceries thank u
Ken
All Melbourne suburbs with the exception of those furthest to the East and furthest to the South East are commutable to CBD in 30-45mins (although in outer areas that only applies to the parts of the suburb in close proximity to the train station or the freeway/tollway). There are shops for groceries everywhere. Generally land is cheaper the further out you go - so you can get more space for the same money. What is and what isn't a good school is unfortunately very subjective and depends on the needs of the student and how much you are willing to pay (although some of Melbourne's highest fee charging schools are very poor performers). dxboz
I really liked Mordialloc (south east Melbourne) - great village feel and lots of cafes etc. there - very close to beach also. About a 40 min drive to CBD https://www.homely.com.au/mordialloc-kingston-melbourne-greater-victoria
