Applying for 187 employer nominated regional visa immediately after being granted a 482 SSTOL visa

Recommended Posts

Hello kind people,

I have a question for you guys or any helpful migration agent on here.

I have an occupation on the Short term Skilled list, and also Regional Occupation list.

The issue with applying directly for the 187 Employer nominated regional migration visa is that the processing time is approximately 23 months which is obviously a very long time.

I can come out to Australia on a employer nominated 187 short term (2 year) visa a lot sooner as the processing time is only 2-3 months.

My question is: Can I apply for the 482 visa, come out to Australia to work, then apply for the 187 visa immediately after being granted the 482 visa/ whilst out in Australia working?

Any input would be grately appreciated.

Best Regards

Yes, as long as you meet the requirements for the subclass 187, being mindful that they have changed recently.

Also be aware that the 187 requires an application to the relevant Regional authority as well as the applications to the Immigration Department.

Hi Raul, can you give me some advices regarding to my RSMS 187 visa application.   I applied RSMS on 26/02/2018 and my agent told me that it is possible to lodge visa application directly together with RCB and Nomination steps (three steps together). It has been three months and I haven't heard any news from RCB approval or not. How do I know that my RCB is approved?.

Thanks.
