chrishay
Hi wondering if anyone can help me. Was hoping to move to Australia in February, on a New Zealand passport. My daughter has been informed that if I fell ill and had to have hospital care and I couldn't afford to pay the bill she would be held responsible for it. Is this true. Thank you Sent using Poms in Oz mobile app
NickyNook
No it's not true. NZ citizens living in Australia can enrol in Medicare and thus qualify for free hospital treatment. Effectively you will be treated the same as an Australian citizen. https://www.humanservices.gov.au/individuals/enablers/medicare-enrolment-new-zealand-citizens Your daughter has been told rubbish ;-)
