Guest
I can't see why not. If you meet all the requirements to make an application. Be aware on shore applications are running at about 15 months or so at present. This is a long time to be on a bridging visa. Also some on this bridging visa find it hard to secure work. Can make he wait time unsettling and a struggle. Off shore applications are currently being processed much quicker. Some are getting them back within a few months. Take a look at our partner visa thread to see current timeframes from recent applicants.

leedarama
This is our current plan too.. .My husband is english and I am Aussie and we are doing exactly that. Coming over on a visitor visa and then 'changing our mind' and applying for the spouse visa whilst in Australia.
nava24
They say make sure you apply for the visa for your intentions so just be aware of this. I heard that from the raussie embassy before applying for my partner visa. And as snifter says applications may take a while onshore. I think i was lucky with mine (applied off shore in uk) and it got approved after about a month and a bit. If you have the money, id just go straight for the spouse visa. Up to you. Good luck!!????
