MichaelDS Posted April 9, 2017 Posted April 9, 2017 Hey, moving to Sydney in May with wife & 3 children, ages 9, 4 and 6m Will be work based around the airport so looking for rental in the south and Sutherland shire perhaps Are we likely to find a nice 3 bed (min) house in that area for circa $850 p/w? any subs to avoid? Thanks
LKC Posted April 9, 2017 Posted April 9, 2017 Yes, you should do. My neighbour/friends husband works for Qantas in Mascot. We live in Woronora Heights, and he either cycles to work (he is very fit!), cycles to Engadine train station and gets the train to Wolli Creek and then changes to the airport, or he drives. There aren't really any suburbs to avoid, but you might prefer a more outlying suburb if you like space and greenery. Suburbs like Sutherland, Gymea, Jannali are safe, but they are quite busy (and noisy). There are good schools all over Sutherland Shire, my daughters attend a superb state school, we've been really happy with their education. Have a look at www.domain.com.au or www.realestate.com.au for rentals.
