onlyshovan
Hi, My condition is a bit complex. I received 176 PR on Jan 2014 and did initial entry and then came back to my country Bangladesh. Till to date I am living in Bangladesh. I got married on 14 April 2016. Now I wanted to apply for my wife's partner visa. But most of my friends and lawyer advised me to go to australia alone and work there for some time. After that lodge partner visa for my wife, otherwise applying from Bangladesh may result in rejection for my wife. But I didnt do it as I dont want to move to Australia alone. Now, I just received Scholarship for PhD in Australia. Although I am a PR, I will willing to do PhD rather doing any job. Now, for quicker visa processing I am planning the following: - Apply for my wife as a student spouse: Is it possible? Because my visa is still PR and I am going to start studying. - If my wife gets students spouse visa then move to australia ... start PhD and appy for my wife's partner visa ... In this complicated scenario, please advise me the best way. And how can I take my wife as a student spouse for now? Best Regards, onlyshovan
MaggieMay24
There's no such thing as a student spouse visa. If you were applying for a student visa, you could include your partner/spouse as a dependent. Since you already hold a PR visa, you will need to sponsor your wife for a partner visa. You can do this either from Bangladesh or from Australia, but it's easier from Australia since you would meet the "usually resident" criteria.
