We are in our early 60s and permanent residents and our son is a Citizen. Our other son is still in the Uk, and I just wanted some info for him. The good news is that they were quoting 56 years a couple of years ago so 50 years is an improvement. But FWIW this is only useful for people who happen to be here and can apply onshore.
