Andyvrs
Hey guys, got my results today.. Listening- 9 Reading- 8.5 Writing- 7.5 Speaking- 8 overall mark 8.5 I needed 8 across the board to get 20 points. This was my first test with no studying as I was working non stop since I booked it. For my writing test I wrote in capitals would this be enough to get me half a point taken off? Think I should appeal? Thanks, Andy
Liam13
i wouldn't appeal, your clearly capable of hitting that score just beat that habit and go again.
xxlornaxx
Yes def appeal, the speaking and the writing are the only two sections worth appealing as they are not straight forward right or wrong answers..mark usually only changes by .5 on appeal but that's all you need
xxlornaxx
Same happened to me....I got all 8.5s and 9s except speaking where I got 7.5...I didn't appeal coz I didn't know much about it all back then and took me four tries to get all 8s coz of the speaking....then I spoke to one of ielts examiners and they told me if their is an issue only in the writing or speaking u should def appeal n told me I shouldn't have wasted my time redoing it as appeal would have been most likely successful.....depends how much of a rush u r in I guess
Andyvrs
Thanks for the information, it's annoying that I only missed it by half a mark. I'm really looking to be over by summer 2017 so passing it first time would have been ideal. Think I'll be appealing.
