CaptainR
I posted a while back about my mother in law who was hospitalised with a heart condition, she was released and told not to travel for three months so we obtained an extension on her SC600 visa. Before she could travel she was hospitalised again and has been told if she survives (she is having urgent surgery) and if she is even released from hospital she will never be fit to travel and cannot return to the Philippines. We have no idea how to deal with this with immigration... Would appreciate any thoughts. We are presently faced with $70,000 of medical debt due to her insurance not covering her pre existing condition. Very stressful times. Leanne Stevens
A Medical Treatment Visa might be possible; you would have to show that you can meet the costs of her healthcare in Australia.
CaptainR
A Medical Treatment Visa might be possible; you would have to show that you can meet the costs of her healthcare in Australia. Unfortunately, we won't be able to do that. We are negotiating all that we can at the moment with the hospital trusts. So we can either try for another extension or ask for a Bridging Visa E?
