NSW De facto relationship registration (married but separated)

Hi Everyone,

Hope someone could help me with my question. I am married but separated for more than 5yrs. There is no divorce in the Philippines and annulment takes a lot of time. I don't have contact anymore with my previous wife and I have a de facto partner now and we would like to register our relationship. Is it possible to register my de facto relationship in NSW?

Thank you.

HI - unfortunately I don't believe it will be possible for you to enter into a registered relationship if you are still married to someone else. Presuming you want to register the relationship for visa options, it might be better to consider whether you could meet the rquirement of 12 months de fcto relationship instead.
