jonjo2904 Posted June 23, 2016 Share Posted June 23, 2016 Hey guys in need of some advice regarding car insurance...so at first i went on budget direct got a great quote at $393 dollars for a little 1.6 honda civic. When i went to follow through with they refused to insure me because i was from the uk on a working visa. When i searched for insurance on google for people with working visa's it come up with a few sites but the cheapest quote i can get is $1600! Does anyone know any good insurance companies? I cannot believe the insurance has multiplied by 4 because im on a working visa...id rather not insure at all than be ripped off like that....any advice? I obtained quotes from all the usual insurance companies and brokers. Do you have an Aussie address? Is it perhaps using a UK address or overseas contact info which is causing the issue for you? jonjo2904 Posted June 23, 2016 Author Share Posted June 23, 2016 Well there was just a problem with the server when i clicked buy online which made me phone up instead of doing an online purchase and when i explained to them i was from the uk on a working visa they said they would not insure me. When i asked her for advice on the phone she said i would just have to search as not all insurance companies will insure people on a working visa.
