I wonder if there is any way I could sort this before I go, stating that the 457 is temporary and that I would have done it here if it were possible? Are you in the UK then and planning to emigrate to Oz Chouse? Hi Needtoknow, Yes I am, I moved to Aus on a WHV and came back to the UK to get married. Looking at moving back permanently now. Only two more weeks to wait until the AITSL deadline for me. Nervous, but I think all should be well. I have BA Hons Education Studies, PGCE Secondary and PGCE SENCo. I decided to go the OU route for my masters as I can get the home student fees because I won't be leaving until after the first day of the course of all goes well. I wonder what the requirements for UK resident are for the funding? I know the Postgrad loan applications open in May so that may be a way around it but I'm not 100%. I would recommend a PGCE SENCo, I completed mine whilst on maternity and then working. I think it cost £1800 all in so that might be a cheaper way to get your extra year, and you can do them remotely if you need to. Where are you looking at moving to? Good luck with your move! Are you recommending SENCO because that's something they are looking for in Oz? Would an early years one be good as there are hundreds of jobs for Early Childhood Teachers. However, I have heard that the course has to include 0-6 years and the courses here don't accommodate for that do they? Leanne I have a PGCE which I gained my QTS from then had to do a second as I'm a SENCo. It was online and I didn't have to do any additional teaching but in the end it's just another PGCE.
