Mattyd
Just starting to set the ball rolling on emigrating to Perth. Looking at costs etc, it looks like we'd be better off shipping our 2 cars (2013 Passat sport estate and a 2011 golf convertible). Has anybody shipped 2 together? or 2 together and household stuff? thanks

srg73
I'm not sure why people bring cars over unless they are absolutely part of the family? Aus has some very interesting cars most of which are suited to their harsh environment. Cabs are rare here, insulation is upgraded in most cars and 4x4's actually get some use. I personally am glad we sold our car and started again here. S
Wirephobia
Personally speaking - because even with full shipping costs (inc taxes and the many other costs) and the cost of insuring personal imports, some cars would cost a lot more to replace with similar in Aus than it would to take it with you. Equally, if you sold it on arrival you could make a decent profit.
