Dackml
Hi, Are there any primary school teachers that could offer some advice and tell me about their experiences trying to get a job. I hear it is hard to get a job as a classroom teacher as there are so many teachers in Melbourne. I'm quite flexible with what I can do. I'm happy to do a bit of supply, contract work or even tutoring. Do you have to have a specific qualification to teach early years? I have some experience in that area, but nothing specific. If anyone could let me know about their experiences whether it be supply or permenant jobs then that would be great.
Guest The Pom Queen
I'm not a teacher and no longer in Melbourne but I know in Cairns there is plenty of supply work, but no full time jobs. Also a lot of parents are wanting tutors for their children, the prices charged for this are between $20 and $50 an hour.
Pom Paul in Melbourne
My wife is primary school teacher. She did CRT for 6 months. Then started getting regular days at a particular school. Then she got offered a position. Now she's ongoing and a leading teacher. It's like most things in life. You've got to show you're competent and build trust and then the doors open for you.
