Guest
Your employer must pay for your return flight, you can chance your arm for other costs I suppose but I doubt they would pay. Did they pay you relocation costs moving out? It would be not unusual for them to ask for reimbursement so tread carefully.

However my employer was slow to do this and so I checked with DIAC and informed them I had left. They contacted my employer, asked for confirmation, ticked her off for not telling them and cancelled it. I then claimed back all my super which was a great little bonus i did not asked for any expenses to get home including flights. I also resigned voluntarily and felt it was inappropriate. She had been very good to me.
