Hi, is there anybody that is applying or have applied for a Visa with the condition of ankylosing spondylitis? My hubby has got it & very concerned about his medical next week, he thinks it will be a problem & that it will unable for us to go!

What do you think?

I think it will boil down to his ability to work and his cost of healthcare? What meds is he on?

Make sure you go armed with the "im not a demic" letters from his consultant etc.

Thanks Bex

I am graduate student from Australia. I am holding Skilled Graduate 485 visa.

Since six months, my partner is suffering from Ankylosing Spondylitis and

getting treatment from local hospital in Australia.

His monthly medical expenses is AUD 50 per month. (Nexim and Arthexin)

Now I am planning to apply Permanent Residence visa. I am wondering to know

that whether I can get Permanent Residence in this condition?

can anybody suggest? :(

Hi prajay,

I would be interested to see how you got on. I too have Ankylosing Spondylitis and looking to apply for a state sponsored PR 190 visa to WA (Perth). I take humira injections fortnightly and i worry that i may fail medical, a) because of AS and b) because Humira is an expensive treatment drug. Can anyone shed any light on experiences.

I know someone who passed a medical with it, they were defecto though if that matters. i also have a mobility issue, they just asked "can I work" my reply was "well I have a job". I was also nervous but it was all over nothing
