Greetings! Help needed on so many levels...

So, first of all, hello to everyone!

I will start with "I just joined forum, and did try to make as much research as possible, but there is so many information here..."

Nevertheless...

I am 27 years old male, from Montenegro (ex Yugoslavia), Europe. I recently decided to move as far away as possible, and start my life from scratch.

Problem is, I do not find my self qualified (enough) to apply for skilled worker visa.

I did many thing (jobs) since I was 16, but most of the time I spent working as EPS (executive protection specialist). So, yeah, worked as private security for some Russians, though, I do have all necessary certificates for it.

That aside, I worked on a construction site, as general laborer, bricklayer, carpenter...

Worked also in automotive industry, as test driver for a local car dealership and service, worked as professional chauffeur (have operational driving certificate)... and so on.

Why I decided to make this leap is that I recently got married, have a 10 old months old daughter, and both my wife and I are working, but can not earn enough to make it...

In this trip, I planned to move on my own, so that my family could have a bit of a kick start when the time is right.

So, maybe I skipped something important, but to be hones, do not have a clue where to start of... So please, I am in urgent need for any kind of advice, experience, word... I am not choosing place or occupation, just an opportunity to live normal.

If you have any questions at all, please, do not hesitate to ask.

Thank you in advance.

Kind regards,

FJ

Hi @exo I have moved your post to the migration section. I really hope someone can come up with a plan to get you here.

Good luck

In terms of being a general labourer, bricky, carpenter etc... That would come under a Trades Recognition Australia (TRA) skills assessment. In order to get a positive outcome, you need to be working at the required skill level, post qualifying in that trade, for 3 years and for the past 12 months also.

Based on what you've said, I do not think you will get a positive skills assessment from TRA unless you have an equivalent qualification, for that trade, that matches the Australian skill level.

Sorry

Well, this wan't something I was hoping to hear...

I guess reality can be harsh some times.

Since that is not going to work, do you maybe have any other ideas how could I apply?

Single person, want to live and work in Aus?

If there is a possibility?!

I firmly believe that where there's a will there is a way! I obviously don't know your exact circumstances but it sounds like you need to invest some time in getting the right recognised skills and qualifications for something on the SOL. Out of interest why do you think Australia is right for you? I mean for me I went on a WHV in 2007 and I made my decision then that based on the space, and the lifestyle that was where I wanted to live. I am still working on it though!

What I know is, I do have will, just, there is always "something".

When it comes to "why Australia", have a few answers:

- I have a distant relative, living and working in Melbourne... and knowing him, and way of his life, him being happy means I will be happy x10 (that one is least powerful reason)

- I was deployed 4 times, and while serving, I met a lot of people from Aus, great guys, and they told me a lot about Aus, that made me not think twice to be honest

- Also, wast amount of space, low population, good economics, stable politics, monetary strong, independent, lots of new opportunities, job vise, life vise... just everything

I did a lot of research, and generally, people who moved are like x10 happier then in their previous lives.

We are hard working people, here on Balkan, willing to learn and listen, and as such, we have great chances of success and having normal life, which we can not afford here.

At this moment, I am working as security officer at private hospital, we have 12 hours shifts, than 12 hours to rest, and MONTHLY income is 270-290 EUR... tell me how much would I earn in Aus working 12 hours a day, 7 days a week...

@exo I suppose that there is the option of getting sponsorship from an Australian employer. Otherwise there may be other options based on state sponsorship or regional sponsorship. Without knowing the intricate details of you situation then it is difficult to give you a definitive answer.

I would suggest having a chat with a migration agent and see what they come up with, most initial consultations are free and can give you a direction and a plan to aim towards.

Welcome to the forum

In what trip? At the moment, it looks to me very unlikely that you are going to qualify for any kind of visa and if you do have a trip planned imminently and if money is so tight at the moment, I fear you could be just wasting it.

I am almost certain that "private security" is not an occupation that qualifies for a visa and whilst you have dabbled in some other occupations, my guess is that you have not spent enough time in any of them to gather the depth of experience and qualification that would be required for a visa. I think you should forget about any trip for the time being and perhaps work on developing a trade or profession that might lead to a visa later on.

And as for your reasons to move, well actually having a happy cousin does not mean you will be x ten happy, your cousin might like it and you might not!
