Captain Roberto
Hi a quickie - re: packing all our family (x5) have decent walking boots here in the UK. We've been cleaning them, but they are still a little dirty - so is it worth trying to bring them or would customs make us get rid of them? scuffythetugboat
Horror stories abound on this subject but basically you would be better off either getting all the dirt off yourself or running the risk of paying lots of money to clean them on arrival or paying lots of money to destroy them. I was told that cleaning is done with an industrial jetwash which would probably destroy the boots anyway.
Suzukiscottie
Warm soapy water and a brush usually gets dirt off from walking boots. Or if you want to do it the hard way, scrape dry dirt off with a knife or something similar . It's not that difficult.
