Do they need to be re-chipped in Australia or do the microchips still register there and our details will be updated when we get a new address and mobile number? Basically the chip has a big long number on it and then that number is on a database with your details as well. There ought to be one database which would make it all easy, but there are quite a few, so check with your vets for the ones used in your area. Or check out http://www.gprsos.com and enter Petair20 at the check out to get a discount. It is a really neat tag which goes on your pets' collar and is a good addition to the chip for helping your pet get re-united with you. I have got my cats chipped and they have a gprsos tag as well.
