datstheone
I have just arrived in Australia on a partner 100 visa and am in the process of sorting out all the admin side of things. I am having problems with the ATO website. There are lots of references to new PRs being able to get a TFN on-line using passport, visa etc information. They all lead to the same page on the site but the link from there to the actual on-line application is broken and gets "page not found" error. I have reported this and waiting to see if it is fixed in due course. In the meantime how have other recent PR migrants gone about getting their TFNs? I am retired so no employer is involved. datstheone
https://iar.ato.gov.au/IARWeb/default.aspx?pid=4&sid=1&outcome=1This might help...just click "next". Thanks that worked. I missed the 'next' in small print at the bottom and thought that I needed to go to the 'How to apply link", blame the jet lag. Now to wait for the postman to deliver - driving licence, Medicare card, TFN, Seniors Card and Seniors Opal Card and I will be all set for my new Australian life, and hopefully at the end of form filling for a while.
