ashyjhoney
Hey all !! [emoji112] I am looking at coming to oz in August. I just wondered if anybody could give me any advise on my best options with work as a electrician. Im fully qualified to uk standard and was thinking should i try and get a "a grade license" before i come over ? Or possibly try and get sponsorship? Any advise for coming over to oz would be a great help anything at all [emoji106] Thankyou for reading Ashley
ciaranmacgiolla
U need the correct license before u can work here, every state is different, I'm a fridge by trade and had to go back to taffe for 13 weeks only to get my d license so may be harder for the a license... Really look into what the different states look for
ashyjhoney
Cheers for the reply !!! Oh right so its all different ? I dont know what state but heard Perth is good for electrical work ? Plus ill be coming over on a year visa to start so won't be able to do a course over there thats 13weeks ! Was looking at trying to get the qualification before coming over ? Or do you think that would be a waste of time and money ?
ciaranmacgiolla
No not a waste just make sure it's recognised here, not sure about Perth, I live in Melbourne. 13 weeks was only 1 night a week, can now do it quicker, 1 full day a week and for 7 to 8 weeks.. Get on a Perth site, may help with more info. Good luck with it all
VERYSTORMY
The issue you will have is that although you can do the college part, in WA you also need to spend time as a trade assistant in order to complete a log book.
