Bridging visas when applying onshore

Hey all!

I've applied for a 189 a few weeks back (not through an agent) and wondering about bridging visas.

As far as I'm aware, I should receive an automatic notification about a bridging visa after I submitted my application. I've got an email with my application acknowledgement but VEVO doesn't yet show anything when I look it up with the TRN.

I popped into the immigration office today and the information guy just waved me away saying that is my bridging visa. Though the letter says nothing about it.

Just checking if others have received anything specifically saying 'This is your bridging visa' when you applied and if you're able to check VEVO on it?

My existing visa (WHV) can no longer be checked on VEVO.

Thanks,

Jonny
