To all who got their visas congrats and good luck to your new endeavor.

We are still waiting for ours to be granted... really frustrating, my kids are about to enrol to school but could not decide. It's hard to pull out again their records once they got in....

Hope everything turns out well

Hi guys,

I'm already on a 457 visa (granted in August 2014) but my employer hasn't been pleasant to work for (for various reasons that I won't go into here) so I started looking for a new job earlier in the year. I was lucky enough to be offered a great new job at the start of March and promptly accepted.

This is my timeline so far:

Employer lodged SBS application - 15th March

Nomination lodged - 15th April

Queries re SBS application - 23rd April

SBS Queries answered by employer - 26th April

Queries re Nomination (Information & Organisation Professionals is classed as high risk) - 30th April

Nomination Queries answered by employer - 6th May

Still waiting on approval.....

I should also clarify that I'm from the UK (low risk) and the application is being processed in Melbourne. The employer tried a priority request as they have a big contract deadline for 30th June but it was rejected as Immigration said they have "too many" priority requests at the moment.

I was told by an MA that Changes of Sponsor are thrown in the pool with 457 applications so I guess the timelines should be similar. How long are Immigration taking to reach a decision after the queries have been answered?

Has anyone else got experience with changing sponsor recently? My original visa got approved in 9 days, I can't believe how slow they are at the moment! :(

Any timelines of recent approvals would be really helpful!!!

Finally today we had some good news. My company's SBS got approved today. I am offshore, from a low risk country (US) and heading to Melbourne. SBS application was submitted in January. Decision-ready Nomination and Visa application was submitted 14 weeks ago on Feb 19. My question is; is the standard processing time of 4-6 weeks from the date of the SBS being approved, or does the 14 weeks get taken into account? I know every application is different, and processing times are extremely slow recently. I am wondering if the fact that my application has now been partially approved, will my file be worked on for the rest of the application?

Hello, I have been granted a 457 on shore (British). My partner (also British) is off shore and I am adding him as a secondary applicant. Does anyone currently know the processing times for him please so he has an idea of how long he has to be off shore? We miss each other :ssign14:

I have been looking on the forum and continued to do so, but not yet found the answer i am looking for. Many thanks
