clairecobb
Hi, I've had a couple of quotes and just wondered what an average fee was for an agent to help with a skilled visa?
Aaronspark
My skilled visa for a family of 4 cost £2100. That was through Go Matilda, who have so far been brilliant.
adele244
Aaron, was that purely for the visas? I am wondering what they charge for help with the skills assessment x thanks x
Aaronspark
Yeah that was for the full visa application. I've just had a look at breakdown of costs and for the Skills assessment application (electrician) it was £950. Not sure if that varies with different trades. What sort of quotes have you been getting?

What sort of quotes have you been getting? What subclass visa is that for? Surely you have to pay DIBP the VAC charge, too?
Aaronspark
It's the 189 visa. That fee was for the agent to help with the skills assessment. What's the VAC charge?
adele244
That's not too bad Aaron! If £2100 was including the skills assessment as well, I thought that would be separate. That's good news that ! X
bristolbloke
We used an agent in Adelaide and had no issues. It's been a few years but back then we paid A$ 2500 incl. a TRA skills assessment.
itegoa
It's the 189 visa. That fee was for the agent to help with the skills assessment. What's the VAC charge? VAC is the visa application charge. For family of 4 on a 189 visa: Main applicant: $3520 Additional applicant (i.e. your partner): $1760 2 children: 2 x $880 == $1760 TOTAL: $7040 (approx £3900 at current exchange rate) See: http://www.immi.gov.au/Help/Pages/fees-charges/visa.aspx Edited November 25, 2014 by itegoa
clairecobb
Thanks Aaronspark....that seems about an average price. For a family of three we are paying £1800 for the total package. Plus all the other charges as just mentioned....plus skills assessment, medicals, police checks.....not a cheap process!
