the beak
G'day, Can anybody advise me of any specialists in this area? I have numerous questions relating to the subject matter & am looking for an initial phone call, with a view to scheduling an appointment in person. ---------------------------- I have researched numerous posts on here on the subject and have a broad understanding of it, but have specific questions unanswered. E.g - what other deduction can I claim from my uk rental income on my Oz tax return, such as the uk 10% wear and tear deduction, for furnishing etc ( im aware of the common ones, loan interest, insurance, maint, council fees etc) Regards Dean
MARYROSE02
I suppose H & R Block are a good start, if they operate in SA. I have my own accountant here in Sydney. Tax Agent fees are tax deductible, so why bother doing your own return?
Alan Collett
H&R Block for UK and Australian tax advice? I think probably not! :-) A tax deduction is available in Australia for depreciation on rental property in the UK - the 10% wear and tear deduction that is available on a UK tax return on a furnished let isn't available in Australia. You can also negatively gear property losses in Australia (on property in the UK too); you can't on a UK tax return. Best regards.
