Good public primary schools on the Sunshine Coast?

Hi,

We are looking at moving to the Sunshine Coast at the start of 2015.

Could anyone recommend any of the public primary schools in that area?

We have a 6 year old boy, who is super shy and very nerdy, so we want to find a school that is relatively quiet and has a decent extension program.

Not knowing anyone, we'd also like a school that has a good community around it, so we can meet some people too.

So we will probably pick the suburb we live in based on the school!

I was looking at Mountain Creek, is it a nice school/area?

Thanks in advance!

PS: Love the site, looking forward to chatting more as we get ready for the big move!

Mountain Creek is a good school but its huge!

I can recommend Chancellor State College as being superb, better than many of the privates!

Others that are good (sorry if I don't include them all, mu troll will be jumping) are Brightwater, Buderim Mountain, Tilara etc.

For Chacellor you'd probably need to live in Sippy Downs - its a very popular school.

The sunshine coast is a huge area. This may help it lists all the schools with a web link.

Another site you can look at is http://www.myschool.edu.au Enter an area for example Buderim and fill in the code at the bottom for access. On the left click on NAPLAN then the easiest one is to click on numbers. Easy to understand academic standing. White boxes are average same as other similar schools, Green is good and red is below average. As you say it is not all about academic it is about the school fitting the child and there are many good schools on the sunshine coast. I can recommend Immanuel Lutheran College,Buderim,QLD. Great school. http://www.immanuel.qld.edu.au you would need to check if they have a place it is a very popular school.
