She has been sponsored by her Australian boyfriend but they want more financial info from them. They have a joint savings account and live together at a family members house. They have been together for 2 years now, but immigration are requesting some financial info from when they were together for 6 months. They didn't have anything together at this stage as it was such a new relationship. Does anyone have any ideas what they could send? Or what she could do about it? Guest Posted August 25, 2014 Share Posted August 25, 2014 When are they stating they became de facto? I'd think immigration are asking for evidence to cover this time frame. Did they say in their application they have been de facto for 2 years? But at the 6 month mark were still only dating (ie not living together)? So perhaps they have only been de facto for 18 months or less even? If they are saying they were de facto for the 6 month stage, they need to be able to provide evidence as they have been asked. The period of time they spent dating as boyfriend and girlfriend does not count toward de facto.
