dinkyrachydon
G'day, We're coming over from England in October and bringing all our funiture. After being informed of the strict measures Oz go to with personell effects has anybody had any major issues with furniture i.e wooden chairs, feather pillows etc, and what was the outcome? Any other information, hints and tips about transporting personel effects would be greatly appreciated. Thanks Rach
Guest
They should be fine. It's untreated wood they are concerned with. Feather duvets and pillows are fine to. They've all been treated.
Pumpkin
It's really not that strict is it? Never heard of anyone having trouble with bringing their household effects over.
KirstyLP
There is a really good page on the DAFF website explaining the AQIS process including common items of quarantine concern, what to do when packing and tips to keep costs of passing the inspection down. http://www.daff.gov.au/biosecurity/travel/moving-emigrating Hope it helps?
