Guest Linda21
Hi, when I was looking at the visa fees for the 489 I noticed there were two amounts listed (for 2 adults / 2 kids). The first states "SP489 Skilled Regional Sponsored (Prov)" = £4120 The second states "SP489 Skilled Regional Spon (Prov) Holds" = £385.00 Can someone clarify which amount gets paid first?? How soon after does the 2nd instalment have to be paid?
Pumpkin
Skilled migrant visas don't have second instalments for British passport holders. Where are you seeing these numbers? Being in GBP, I presume not on an official website? Costs are here, your lower quote cost might relate to the cost of an extension? http://www.immi.gov.au/Help/Pages/fees-charges/visa.aspx
Guest Linda21
It was on the official government website, in the section to calculate the cost of your visa. However, it does not ask where you are applying from so perhaps the second instalment is for applicants from other countries. Thanks
Ozmaniac
The lower figure quoted is the cost of a visa extension if you haven't been able to meet the residence/owrk requirements for eligibility for a permanent visa. The higher amount is payable when you lodge your first 489 application. The lower amount is only payable if you need an extension several years after that.
