excitedbutterrified
Probably a silly question, but... We are about to start the process of applying for a sponsored working visa (either the 4 year temp , or PR) to work in Melbourne. But we also have a holiday booked for this November in perth (booked before we even planned to apply for aussie jobs, but we will use the trip to visit our new employers) Does anyone know if the system allows for a tourist visa to be issued whilst another application is in the pipeline? (obviously if by some miracle we have our working visas sorted by November we will just use those to enter) Cheers
calNgary
I thought one could cancel the other, on saying that we visited whilst our application was in and had no problems.lol,so im not 100%. Hopefully someone who knows for sure will be along soon. Cal x
Ozmaniac
You can apply for more than one visa at the same time or make a new application with one already in the pipeline, but you need to be aware that the grant of a second visa will cancel one already held. Make sure your work visa Case Officer (when you get one) knows your travel plans if you don't have that visa by November. For some visas applied for offshore, you MUST be offshore when they're granted.
