JosieT
Hello Quick question. So i am currently on my first WHV and i have worked for my employer for the past 4 months. I have 2 months remaining with them and they now want to sponsor me on a 187 visa. My question is if a decision hasn’t been made by immigration by the time my 6 months maximum working period is up can i continue working for them until i receive a decision or can i go on a bridging visa? Thanks

blossom
Yep, you just need to get permission first, and make sure your employer gets all their bits together before the six months is up (it can take a while).
Ozmaniac
Once you have applied for your 187 (but only AFTER you have applied), you can apply for permission to work beyond the 6 month per employer WHV limit. http://www.immi.gov.au/allforms/pdf/1445.pdf Form 1445. Request permission to work with an employer beyond 6 months on a Working Holiday or Work and Holiday visa
