ozKid
Hi , I need some suggestion on my visa scenarios. I am now eligible for Australian citizenship, currently I am on permanent visa. I can now apply for citizenship but my wife who is on permanent visa also(dependent) is not eligible for citizenship. So how should I proceed ? Should I apply for citizenship and my wife can remain on permanent visa(though it's depended visa and she was the secondary applicant)? Or does she need to apply for spouse visa one I applied for citizenship? Can anyone help ?
calNgary
I think you can just apply and get yours and she can remain on her PR visa until she too is eligible to apply. Im sure someone will be along to correct me if im wrong, lol. Lots of luck with your citizenship test. Cal x
Ozmaniac
Even though your wife was a secondary applicant, she holds her permanent visa in her own right. You should apply for citizenship when you're eligible and she should remain on her permanent visa until she is also eligible to apply for citizenship.
