Certifying documents for anmac!

Hi everyone! Almost got it all together to send off to anmac, going to get things certified next week. Can I get my friend who is a solicitor to certify my documents for anmac? Looked at notary and fees start at £190!!! My friend who do it for a cuppa, so marginally cheaper!! Any issues with doing it this way?

Thanks for any advice!! X

You'll be fine to use your friend. We're using an agent so they have taken care of most of the document certification however, to save time on the skills assessment my husband had a few documents certified by a close friend who's a solicitor.

You can use your friend to do it for ANMAC but if you were planning on getting the documents forwarded to AHPRA after yours skills assessment get a JP to do it or you will be getting them done again at some point (by a JP)

If your already registered with AHPRA a solicitor will be fine.

Local courthouse will do them, I paid £25 for 10 documents had to go a few times. There is a previous thread where ANMAC wanted a registered number of person doing it so be careful. The ANMAC site used to state notary had to do it but may have changed since I applied

I am using an agent and their solicitor and planning to have anmac forward docs to aphra. My agents solicitor is NOT a jp or notary public but they say they have never had an issue with aphra then rejecting them!! Aaarrrgghhhh can't decide whether to wait and see or just start again with certifying docs. Comments welcome!!

My mum is a retired lawyer and still has contacts so we used one of her friends to do it - they charged £2.50 per page (usually £5) and used the company stamp to 'officialise' them :-)

Just hope it's not in vain as we're not hopeful about our skills assessment... :frown:

Thanks for all of those replies!! This skills assessment is shaping up to be one of the most frustrating things I've had to do! Think I'll call the local court tomorrow and see what they say! Failing that I'll use my friend, after all ANMAC do state in their FAQ section that a legal practitioner is acceptable!

Thanks again guys! X
