Guest
Has he done the visa wizard on the Aus immigration site? At 23 he may be best off applying for a WHV which would give him a year in Aus (and another year provided he does 3 months regional work), with conditions like only working 6 months with one employer, to see if he likes it and would want to live there longer term before spending thousands on getting himself a more permanent visa. If he wants to just take the plunge, and his profession/skill is on the list, he could apply that way. That will cost him a fair whack and he'll need to meet all the requirements. blossom
Assuming he ticks all the boxes he can. Have a look to see how much he would need to pass the skills assessment. He might be better off waiting until he can get that as a whv can put you back experience wise.

At 23 it is likely he could go straight for permanent residency depending on his work experience, qualifications etc. Debbie it all depends on what he's goals are doesn't it; there a different visas to match different needs. If he's thinking long term then you want to check the 189, 190 visa. Kind regards
