kelvintom
Hi everyone Not good news have had an email today from our agent informing us they have received an email from the PVC informing them it is currently taking approx 19 months from receiving an application for a contributory parent visa to be assessed by a case officer. Prior to this stage the department will not be in contact and will not confirm receipt of individual documents. So it looks like this is taking about 4 months longer. We have an acknowledgement date of the 16/08/2012, therefore we have now been waiting almost 17 months, but there has been people who acknowledged on the 13/08/2012 have already got a Case Officer, so I am a little bit convused have they moved the goal post. Why will we have to wait another 2 months this is crazy. :nah:
lebourvellec
There are planning levels of parent visas each year - once they have reached the yearly limit, it will be the next year before visa will be looked at. DIBP year starts 1 July until 30 June.
contactserena
Always thought the waiting time is about 12 months. I applied for my parents on the 173 visa and waited a bit under 12 months back in 2012.
